On the origins of hugoBallz brand, character and company. The character was created by Brandon Buschmann in 2002 on a train ride from Sea Cliff to Albany. The first appearance of "Hugo" was a square headed man with beret and goatee appearing in a drawing titled Chess Club. First published appearance of Hugoballz in the University at Albany student newspaper in the comic strip The Sunday Characters. Later Hugo would evolve in a anime inspired corporate logo. Hugoballz.com launched jan 2005 a few years later and was met with international success. Hugoballz.com is now syndicated to hundreds of websites all over the world. Hugo Ballz became trademarked with the unique spelling hugoBallz establishing itself as an indepdent label. He lives in New York with Robodude and the rest of his friends.";
